Unveiling the evolution of this year’s image

CINEMA ITALY STIMULATING AND PROMOTING GROWING TALENTS

We are delighted to unveil this year’s image and to share the exciting story behind its creation, as it has been designed for the third time by upcoming talents – this year’s students attending the Global Strategic Communications Creative track graduate program offered by FIU and the Miami Ad School, led by Prof. Grizelle De Los Reyes.

Since 2015 we launched a competition among graphic design students to create the actual CINEMA ITALY image, with the aim to stimulate and promote growing talents by offering them a platform for demonstrating their capacity to capture an idea and transform it into art.

The diversity of the entries as well as the muse and creativity of these growing talents is just remarkable! Finally, the following artwork won this year’s competition to design the image for the XV CI Miami and CI Atlanta:

CINEMA ITALY recognizes Adriana Magaña, Bader Salahuddin, Daniel Jungkind, Valeria Figueroa and their winning work.
At the same time, we appreciate the fruitful collaboration with Prof. Grizelle De Los Reyes as well as all the participating students, attending the Global Strategic Communications Creative track graduate program offered by FIU and the Miami Ad school.

Students enrolled in the program and as part of a Creative Strategy class 2017.
The Global Strategic Communications creative track program is led by Prof. Grizelle De Los Reyes, who also spearheaded the image competition amongst her students.

Grizelle De Los Reyes’ career can be summarized as one-part professional and one-part academic.
Her 34+ years of professional experience in media, marketing research, advertising management, strategic planning and sales has made her a very effective educator and program administrator. Since 2007, she has been a professor at Florida International University (FIU) and Director of the elite Global Strategic Communications program – creative track, in partnership with world renowned Miami Ad School. In her classes, her main goal is to assign projects that provide students with real world experience and produce work that can be showcased in their portfolios and case studies to talk about in job interviews.

“Working with Cinema Italy was the real deal. The 16 creative students who worked on this assignment are new to the graduate creative track program with our partner, Miami Ad School. They come from all over the world and the United States to study creative strategy, art direction and copywriting with us. This was their first assignment and experience working with fellow students they did not know. Even through hurricane Irma, they made sure to upload their images so that Cinema Italy’s team had time to review their work. Now, that’s dedication, talent and trial by fire…or hurricane!”
